Fun and festive Spider Web Pancakes perfect for Halloween or any family breakfast!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Chocolate syrup or food coloring (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter until well combined.
  3. Combine Wet and Dry: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just mixed.
  4. Preheat Skillet: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  5. Create the Spider Web Design: Pour a small amount of batter into the skillet and swirl it into a web pattern.
  6. Cook Until Bubbles Form: Watch for bubbles on the surface of the pancake, then flip carefully.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Plate the pancakes and drizzle with chocolate syrup or your choice of toppings.

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter to avoid tough pancakes. You can also substitute buttermilk with regular milk plus vinegar.
