Delightful cookies that are crisp on the edges and soft and chewy in the center, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cream the softened butter with the sugar until smooth and light.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  5. Blend the dry ingredients into the creamed mixture until just combined.
  6. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls and place on cookie sheets.
  7. Flatten each ball with the bottom of a glass dipped in sugar.
  8. Bake for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until golden around the edges.
  9. Cool on wire racks before serving.
