A fun twist on classic cookies perfect for Halloween or playful occasions, combining rich peanut butter flavor with whimsical spider decorations.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate (for melting)
  • 8-10 edible eyes
  • 8-10 pretzel sticks (for legs)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C), ensuring it’s ready for baking these delicious cookies.
  2. Mix in a mixing bowl, combine the peanut butter, sugar, vanilla extract, and baking soda. Mix until you achieve a smooth, consistent dough.
  3. Roll the dough into balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on a lined baking sheet and gently flatten each ball with the palm of your hand.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  5. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. Melt the dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in intervals of 30 seconds, stirring in between, until smooth.
  7. Dip the top of each cookie into the melted chocolate, then place the edible eyes on top before the chocolate sets.
  8. Insert the pretzel sticks into the sides of each cookie to form the spider legs.
  9. Allow the chocolate to harden before serving, about 10-15 minutes.

Notes

Use creamy peanut butter for a smoother dough; chill the dough if it’s warm for better results.
