A fun and delightful way to start your morning, monster pancakes are packed with flavor and easy to whip up, making breakfast a special occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Chocolate chips, sprinkles, or other toppings (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, and melted butter until everything is smooth and well blended.
  3. Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined, being careful not to overmix; some lumps are okay.
  4. Add Color: If you’re using food coloring, add it to the batter now. Stir until you achieve your desired color.
  5. Preheat Pan: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. A drop of water should sizzle when it’s ready.
  6. Pour the Batter: Pour the batter onto the skillet to form pancakes of your desired size. Use a ladle for even portions.
  7. Cook Until Bubbles: Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancakes, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Flip and Finish: Flip the pancakes and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  9. Serve: Serve warm with chocolate chips, sprinkles, maple syrup, or your favorite toppings.

Notes

Don’t overmix. Use fresh ingredients for the best result. Customize the pancake size and cooking time.
