Enjoy the bold flavors of Korean cuisine with these quick and satisfying steak sandwiches, featuring sweet-spicy glazed steak, crunchy slaw, and creamy drizzle.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) juicy flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup Korean-style sweet and spicy sauce (like gochujang-based sauce)
  • 4 slices of crusty bread (like ciabatta or baguette), toasted until golden
  • 1 cup crunchy slaw (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha (adjust based on spice preference)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add sliced steak and cook for 4-5 minutes until browned and cooked through, stirring occasionally.
  2. Pour the Korean-style sweet and spicy sauce over the cooked steak, stirring to coat evenly. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  3. While the steak cooks, toast your bread slices until they are golden and crispy.
  4. On each slice of toasted bread, layer the glazed steak generously.
  5. Add a portion of crunchy slaw on top of the steak for crunch and freshness.
  6. Mix mayo and Sriracha together to create the creamy spicy drizzle. Drizzle it on top of the slaw.
  7. Serve the sandwiches warm and enjoy right away for the best texture and flavor.

Notes

Slice against the grain for tender steak. Customize toppings to fit your taste. Best enjoyed fresh but can be prepared ahead.
