A quick and delicious way to bring a taste of the Asian kitchen into your home with tender beef and colorful vegetables in a savory sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef steak (such as sirloin or flank)
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 carrot, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the beef: Slice the beef steak thinly against the grain.
  2. Heat the oil: In a large pan or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook the beef: Add the sliced beef to the hot pan and stir-fry until browned, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add the vegetables: Next, add the broccoli, bell pepper, carrot, and garlic. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes.
  5. Mix the sauce: In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch until smooth.
  6. Thicken the sauce: Cook for an additional minute until the sauce begins to thicken.
  7. Season and serve: Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve over cooked rice or noodles.

Notes

Flank steak works well for a more tender texture. Feel free to substitute with chicken or tofu for a different protein option.
