A quick and easy stir-fry dish featuring tender chicken, crisp vegetables, and a peppery sauce, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced (any color)
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2-3 teaspoons black pepper
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Chicken Mixture: In a bowl, combine the chicken pieces with cornstarch, soy sauce, and a little salt. Mix well and set aside for about 10 minutes to marinate.
  2. Heat the Oil: In a wok or large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over high heat until shimmering.
  3. Cook the Chicken: Add the marinated chicken to the hot pan. Stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside.
  4. Stir-fry the Vegetables: In the same pan, add the minced garlic and ginger. Stir for 30 seconds until fragrant, then add the sliced bell peppers and broccoli florets. Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are crisp-tender.
  5. Combine and Cook: Return the cooked chicken to the pan. Sprinkle in the black pepper, and add the oyster sauce and chicken broth. Stir everything together and let it cook for another 2-3 minutes to heat through.
  6. Serve: Enjoy your Black Pepper Chicken hot, served over steamed rice or noodles.

Notes

For best results, use high heat during cooking. Fresh ingredients like ginger and garlic enhance flavor.
